Topic Proposal

Tablets and laptops have become increasingly popular in schools and are now beginning to take the place of a textbook. There is a lot of debate about whether this is beneficial or not. Some of these reasons include how it is affecting the environment and how it affects the students learning.

My proposal states that there are benefits to switching over to tablets. By doing this, schools are being environmentally friendly as well as allowing students to broaden their learning with the access to the internet. This is not to say that textbooks are completely useless but, that tablets are able to take the place of a textbook and do more. 

I chose this topic because it had an effect on the way I learned growing up. The school district which I grew up in gave each student in jr. high and high school laptops which they would get to take home and keep after graduating. As I continued my education from middle school to high school we relied on our laptops more and more for schoolwork. This seems to be a common theme for a lot of high school students and it is becoming more common in a lot of schools.
